24 Hour Help line

Our help line advocates are available for victims of domestic violence, and anyone calling on their behalf. 24 hours a day 7 days a week to provide intakes into emergency confidential shelter, give information and referrals to other providers in our community, educate survivors about the dynamics of domestic violence, and safety planning.

Confidential Emergency Shelter

Our confidential shelter provides accommodations for 18 women and children. Please follow the link below to view our facility and learn more about the shelter.

Advocacy Services

An advocate trained in Advocacy Based Counseling is available at the shelter and our administrative location and provide the following services:

  • One on one advocacy based counseling
  • Support group with childcare
  • Legal advocacy
  • Children's advocacy
  • Sponsorship for educational scholarships through WISP Inc.
  • Safety planning
  • Clothing vouchers
  • Community resources and referrals
  • Tech safety
  • Immigration Advocacy

Housing First Program

In partnership with the Whatcom Homeless Service Center and thanks to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Womencare Shelter now has a Housing First Program that assists victims of domestic violence and their children in obtaining permanent housing. Womencare Shelter Housing First Advocates provide rental subsidies and case management for up to 18 months to ensure housing retention and
